It may be a long bus ride and an early start getting to Kick Butts Day from the Pioneer Valley, but the folks from South Hadley find it is always one of the best days of the year, rain or shine!  This year we loved hearing Senator Lewis starting things off at St. Paul’s Church and we loved rallying on the steps all together.  The march across the Boston Common is always exciting as everybody shouts and chants. We had a great meeting with representative John Scibak as he explained to us what it takes to pass a bill into law. And we got to meet with a legislative aide for Senate President Stan Rosenberg who told us that the Senate plans to conference on the “Tobacco 21” bill even before they pass the marijuana regulations. We thanked the legislators for supporting for years with us!

The Peer Leaders of South Hadley High School are a dedicated and active group of students who are willing to stand up against the use of damaging substances like tobacco products by teenagers. We work to model leadership skills, pro-social action and positive decision making for our peers.
