On December 18th, U.S. Surgeon General Vice Adm. Jerome M. Adams issued an advisory stressing the importance of protecting youth from a lifetime of nicotine addiction and associated health risks by immediately addressing the epidemic of youth e-cigarette use.
At the conference, one of the guest speakers was Statewide Leadership Team member Sarah Ryan from Holbrook Junior/Senior High School. Sarah shared her own experiences by stating that many youth she goes to school with are using these products. She also mentioned that for some students, it’s easier to find a JUUL to borrow than a pencil.
