Where are your from? I grew up in New York, right outside of NYC and next to New Jersey!
What is your favorite food? NACHOS!!!! With melty cheese, lots of sour cream, and cilantro.
What is your role with The 84 Movement? Most of my time with The 84 Movement is spent working with our amazing Statewide Leadership Team. I help them plan and prepare for our statewide events, gather their feedback for 84 programming, and help to run our weekly Statewide Leadership Team meetings.
How did you first learn about The 84? When I moved to Boston for graduate school, I was looking to work somewhere that had me interacting with young people, and had to do with public health. The 84 is right up that alley, giving me the opportunity to do tobacco prevention work and interact with young, public-health minded people.
What is your favorite part about working with The 84? We have fun!! The 84 staff team and the Statewide Leadership Team are always so fun to hang out with. There is always something fun going on, in the best kind of way.
What is one thing you HAVE to have on your desk at all times? I try to drink a lot of water during the work day, and having a full water bottle makes it easy to always be hydrated.
What is one of the funniest moments you have had in the office? One of the funniest moments was in my first few months working with The 84. It was right before a big event, Youth Power Summit, and my boss got 84 staff member squashes and gourds as a motivator. It was Autumn, so it made sense, but it was still so funny to find at my desk!
What is one message you have for youth about their role in tobacco control? Passion is persistence and patience! Advocacy can feel like a full-time job, but you are making progress everyday that you keep working towards your goal in tobacco prevention.
