  • What is your role with The 84 Movement?
    • I feel like I do a little bit of everything with the 84.  My main role is to work with our Statewide Leadership Team.  I meet with them weekly to set direction for the movement, develop workshops, and plan statewide events like Kick Butts Day.
  • What is your favorite feel-good song, movie, book, or TV show?
    • Lately I have been watching the Great British Baking Show.  I enjoy that the contestants seem to be rooting for each other even as they compete, and the hosts are really fun. My go-to if I need a laugh will always be The Office.
  • What does the Statewide Leadership Team best know you for?
    • I really enjoy working with the Statewide Leadership Team. I think they know that and that I am always available to support and encourage them. I bring a laid-back energy to the meetings, and I enjoy laughter and fun as priorities.
  • What’s your favorite 84 team memory?
    • We were lucky to be able to have an in-person meeting over the summer with most of the Statewide Leadership Team. That was really special and my favorite memory from the day was sitting in the park in small groups and talking about our passions. It was a great time of connection and bonding.
  • What is your favorite fact about yourself to share with new people?
    • I love puzzles and games. I am obsessed with Wordle. I am part of three D&D campaigns. I invented the icebreaker “Biggest-Bestest”.
  • What’s one thing you hope youth in The 84 remember this year?
    • That you are not alone. As corny as that sounds, it’s true. I think a lot of young people feel like they have to take on life’s challenges by themselves. As a Movement, we support each other and when we stand together we can make change in our communities. It starts by recognizing that a lot of us are dealing with similar challenges.
  • What are you looking forward to the rest of this year?
    • Kick Butts Day: Youth Day of Action is March 31st! It will be virtual, and we will get the opportunity to meet with our elected legislators to share what we are seeing in our communities and what we are working on with our Chapters. It’s such an amazing event highlighting the power of youth voice!
