What is your favorite memory from being on the 84?
My favorite memories from being on the 84 consist of the pre-covid memories where we could be in person. Last year, my favorite day was when we all met at the HRIA offices in Boston to work together on the planning for Youth Power Summit. It was so fun seeing everyone in person because I am so used to seeing them on screens!
What is your favorite toothpaste?
This is an odd one, but my favorite toothpaste is regular crest paste. When I had jaw surgery over the summer, my mouth became super sensitive, and using a mint toothpaste almost hurt! So now I love to use just regular flavored toothpaste.
What is your favorite season?
My favorite season is Fall. Besides me being biased because it holds my birthday, the season fall represents a time of new beginnings to me. Starting a brand new school year and for me, being a new age, is why I love fall! I also love Halloween and Thanksgiving, and fall is also like the “preseason” to Christmas.
What is something you’re passionate about?
(Content Note: Mental Health) Something I’m passionate about is mental health education. A super impactful moment in my life stuck with me about a year ago when I, along with a few other high schoolers in my town’s chapter, created and presented a mental health slideshow for the 5th grade before they went into middle school. At the end of the presentation, I created a Jeopardy game, and I heard the fifth graders shouting out their answers such as “mental health!” and “warning signs!”, and I remember feeling so happy that our presentation and conversation around mental health made them comfortable shouting out these words and phrases surrounding a topic that can be so hard to talk about. That one moment made me realize just how passionate I was about mental health awareness and education.
