Don't Burn It - Attn: Boston youth!

How would you and your friends like to win a dance party at your school hosted by JAMN 94.5’s Ramiro, Pebbles and DJ Pup-Dawg? The school that gets the most signatures for It's Your Money, Don’t Burn It’s online petition will win just that.

It’s Your Money, Don’t Burn It is a tobacco-free campaign for Boston-area teens, launched in partnership with the Boston Public Health Commission and The 84 youth.  Teens were involved in the development of the campaign every step of the way. They surveyed their peers to find out which tobacco products kids see in their neighborhoods and where they see tobacco advertised. They also voted on their favorite concepts. Since she started working with the campaign, Krishana Abrahim, said, “I learned that a lot of people actually do care about where their money is going and actually don’t want to waste it on something that could be harmful to them like tobacco products.”

Signing the petition says that you have more important things to use your money for- like new sneakers, an iPad 2, or college tuition. It shows that you’re smart enough to know that tobacco companies are targeting you, but you know how to make your own decisions. So sign now for a chance to win a dance party and to tell your friends that you’ve got better things to spend your money on.

The 84 represents the 84% of Massachusetts teens who choose not to smoke.
