SEEKONK - Fighting tobacco
The 84 Chapter has come to Seekonk High School. The 84 is a statewide movement of students fighting tobacco in Mass. 84 percent of Mass. students do not use tobacco products. Ms. DeFusco and Mrs. Rok have organized a group of students who will be focusing on the Great American Smokeout on Nov. 17 by having students pledge to not use tobacco products. The club members will be making posters that will be displayed around the school with facts about smoking and the dangers of tobacco. Other events on the local and state level will be planned for the year, such as Kick Butts Day at the Mass. Statehouse in March and Worldwide Smokeout Day in May.
