SEEKONK — Each week Seekonk High School sends out an e-mail newsletter to parents letting them know what is going on at the high school. This article focuses on some of the highlights from the Oct. 7 newsletter. Those parents or community members who would like to receive the letter should send a request to me.

  • Ms. DeFusco and Mrs. Rok will be starting a club called The 84, which is a “statewide movement of youth fighting tobacco in Massachusetts.” The 84 represents the 84 percent of MA youth who choose to do positive things and not smoke. The club will be involved in tobacco prevention projects in the HS and Seekonk community. Ms. DeFusco will attend The 84 Statewide Kickoff and Training on Oct. 22. More information will follow when available.

  • The first meeting of the school council was held on Tuesday, Oct. 4. We were pleased to welcome four new teachers, one new student and one new parent to the committee. We reviewed the goals of our school improvement plan and set up some tasks for our next meeting.
