The Boston Globe March 29, 2011 BEACON HILL- Photos: Anti-tobacco "Kick Butts Day" rally in Boston. One hundred Boston youth joined 150 of their peers from across Massachusetts last Wednesday for the "2011 Kick Butts Day." The annual event is held by The 84 Movement to raise awareness of the tobacco industry’s "underhanded tactics to target youth," organizers said. Before marching to the State House, youths from across Massachusetts began their day with a training session to share how they were working in their communities to limit the impact of tobacco. Youths marched from the Cathedral Church of St. Paul on Tremont Street through the Boston Common to the State House. The day finished with an event in the Great Hall featuring state Department of Public Health Commissioner John Auerbach and legislators from across Massachusetts.
